The Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) held its plenary session on 23 July 2025 as part of the meeting held in Madrid from 19 to 25 July. This plenary session aimed to provide updates on administrative and operational topics.
Professor Carlos J. Bernardos (UC3M) delivered a presentation entitled ‘Enabling DetNet multi-domain: Some results, lessons learned and future work items from collaborative projects’, using the PREDICT-6G multi-domain use case as an example of success. You can see the presentation here.
Through the multi-domain deterministic communication use case, PREDICT-6G has demonstrated how deterministic communication can be extended to large-scale, multi-provider scenarios. This has been achieved by exploring a combination of control and data-plane mechanisms to ensure timely services. The ‘Real Time Gesture Based Remote Control Of A Digital Twin‘ demo is the best example of the success of this use case. This shows how combining three key technologies enables us to control a robotic dog remotely using gestures.
