Ericsson’s Imagine Live Innovation Days were held 5 and 6 November in Aachen, Germany. The 2024 edition focused on advancing and improving the performance of 5G networks and offered insights into the road to 6G, bringing together Ericsson’s many customers and partners with its experts and researchers.
PREDICT-6G was represented by two of its partners: UC3M and the host of the event, Ericsson. Prof. Antonio De La Oliva, PREDICT-6G coordinator, shared the main highlights of the project in the session ‘Presenting innovative projects’. Marc Mollà Roselló from Ericsson, member of the PREDICT-6G consortium, presented the ‘Smart factory’ demo.
This demonstration shows the application of Time Sensitive Networking (TSN) capabilities in 3GPP networks, with a specific focus on a Gestamp-inspired Smart Factory use case. The aim is to move from a wired configuration to a wireless LAN scenario using a 5G network, highlighting the challenges of connecting multiple mobile components in a factory environment.
