EuCNC 2025

PREDICT-6G Final event: a special session at EuCNC 2025 on PREDICT-6G main results and highlights
The Horizon Europe SNS JU PREDICT-6G project has been working since January 2023 on enhancements for multi-domain multi-technology deterministic networks, characterized by their reliability, time sensitiveness and predictability.
Deterministic networking is a key functionality that is starting to permeate a variety of use cases. Manufacturing, critical services and multimedia, among others, are use cases that benefit from this technology. The differentiating approach of PREDICT-6G considers a multi-domain multi-technology scenario, where a mix of deterministic and non-deterministic domains can be glued together to enable different deterministic characteristics to end to end communication. Enhancements to data plane technologies such as IEEE 802.11, IETF DetNet, and 3GPP together with novel control plane approaches using network digital twinning for predictability have been designed and are ready to be pushed into the business units of the consortium participants.
5GSmartFact is an MSCA-ITN project running since 2022 whose objective is to study, develop, optimize and assess the deployment of 3GPP networks that target the IIoT requirements (in terms of availability, ultra-low latency, reliability, amount of supported devices, localization accuracy and energy efficiency) in factory environments, and exploit them to integrate industry4.0 applications (especially those related to robot-control and robot navigation) leading to a complete redesign of networked robot architectures and hence to a leap forward in the industry automation.
This special session will serve as the final dissemination event of PREDICT-6G, presenting the key highlights and results of the project to a broad audience, also showcasing its relation to the 5GSmartFact project.
Programme for Thursday 5 June 2025
The special session will divide its 1.5 hours into presentations of the main highlights and key innovations of the project. A panel with industry leaders in the area, including other project representatives such as:
